TT boosts Isle of Man economy by £39m

TT boosts Isle of Man economy

A recent BBC Breakfast TV article underlined the importance of the TT Races to the Isle of Man economy. The motorcycle race significantly boosts the island’s economy and especially sectors such as hospitality and leisure. Rob Callister, a Member of the House of Keys in the Tynwald (IOM Parliament) says that the TT race alone is worth £39 million in local investment.

Isle of Wight Road Races, a TT-style motorcycle event, would undoubtedly bring a similar level of financial benefit to the Island, creating and sustaining local jobs by supporting local businesses outside of the main tourism season.

Like the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man is also a UNESCO Biosphere reserve.
